From the single-player-to-a-part Baroque clarity of Vivaldi to the late-Romantic splendor of Wagner and Holst, every selection demonstrates the depth and brilliance of the Chesky sound.This collection highlights an extraordinary roster of talent, featuring Charles Gerhardt leading the National Philharmonic Orchestra in a rousing rendition of Wagner's "Die Walkure: Ride of the Valkyries", and the Bruckner Orchestra Linz delivering the sheer orchestral power required for Holst's "Mars" and Strauss's "An Der Schoenen Blauen Donau". The set also features the intricate chamber work of the Connecticut Early Music Festival Ensemble under Igor Kipnis, and the sultry, evocative saxophone of Lawrence Feldman with Orquesta Nova. Records arrived inside the special record boxes, unopened, and in pristine condition. They didn't very long to begin the shipping either. Some places make you wait 3-5 days just to have it shipped out. They did not.
This is not about the product. I've ordered from PBD before and the Vinyls that come from them are wonderful and pressed really well!
