PRODUCT DETAILS
Emerging onto the worldstage via Lee Scratch Perry's 1977 masterpiece Heart Of The Congos, the group established a unique cache in the international reggae market. Cedric Myton, Watty Burnett, and Roy Johnson struck out on their own to produce Image of Africa and Congo Ashanti, both released in 1979. Each album is remembered for a distinct studio sound, more mainstream than Scratch's hazy experiments and in line with the late 70s golden era. Standout tracks include "Youth Man," "Days Chasing Days," "Hail The World Of Jah," and "Thief Is In The Vineyard." Featured players include Ernest Ranglin, Sly & Robbie, Tommy McCook. The reissue features the images by acclaimed photographer Antoine Giacomoni. Newly remastered with liner notes and rare images.
