Creating a reflective and creatively ambitious milestone for Joan as Police Woman, revisiting and re-imagining the material from her breakthrough 2006 album Real Life 2 decades after it's original release. Rather than a straightforward anniversary edition, this project transforms the source material through years of live performance, artistic growth, and a completely new set of collaborators. Across ten tracks, she reconstructs each composition with fresh arrangements that range from subtle reinterpretations to dramatic reinventions. These versions are not nostalgic recreations but living, evolving works-shaped by time, experience, and the organic development of the songs on stage. The result is an album that feels both familiar and entirely new, bridging past and present through a deeply personal lens. Featuring an impressive and eclectic lineup of collaborators, including Will Graefe, Jeremy Gustin, Tony Scherr, Parker Kindred, Danny Blume, Krystle Warren, Oren Bloedow, Thomas Bartlett, & Iggy Pop. Contributors bring a distinct musical voice, adding texture & nuance to the re-imagined material while maintaining the emotional core that defined the original recordings. As an artist, Joan as Police Woman has long defied easy categorization, blending elements of alternative, soul, jazz, and art-pop into a singular and expressive style. Her career spans a wide range of collaborations with influential figures such as Lou Reed, David Byrne, Rufus Wainwright, and Anohni, as well as ongoing work with Iggy Pop and Damon Albarn's Africa Express. Records arrived inside the special record boxes, unopened, and in pristine condition. They didn't very long to begin the shipping either. Some places make you wait 3-5 days just to have it shipped out. They did not.
This is not about the product. I've ordered from PBD before and the Vinyls that come from them are wonderful and pressed really well!

USPS seemed to have goofed around a bit and cause a delay of about 1.5 weeks. Tristan was a highly communicative person and was reassuring with the options I had regarding if my order never arrived.
