Viewers were treated to the lysergic hayseed-isms of THE PORTER WAGONER SHOW, the pastel psychedelia of THOSE SINGIN' SWINGIN' STOMPIN' SENSATIONAL STONEMANS, and the beer and laxative commercials that erupted in between It was possible to channel surf between the multitude of country stars. Snake oil and lube. Primate and convict. While hick salesmen peddled their wares, hillbillies sang laments of heartbreak and tax slave revolt, saloon booze ups and death row fuckups. This disc can be played in lip-sync (with standardized applause) or live in the studio to hear some of your favorite country music stars of yesteryear, broadcast from Music City U.S.A.
